Welcome:
Since their inception in August, 1996, the Sacred Heart Sax ‘n Brass Band of West Des Moines, under the direction of Jerry Kinney, has performed over 300 concerts in the Central Iowa area. The twenty or so instrumentalists present a variety of music, including marches, overtures “pops” songs, Broadway and television show tunes and themes, and novelties, and features various band members as soloists.
The group includes doctors, nurses, businessmen, computer programmers, bookkeepers, university staff, and instrumental music instructors, all of whom enjoy playing their instruments.
The Sax ‘n Brass players are a throwback to the “Concert in the Park” bands that are such an important part of our musical heritage, playing music from the past to the present for your listening pleasure.

We hope you have fun and enjoy the site!
On Friday morning, September 16, 2011, we have been asked to play at the dedication ceremony for the Vietnam War Memorial Exhibit that will be coming to Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines. The three-quarter size Wall will remain for three days as part of a nationwide tour.
Governor Branstad will lead this event. We would play from 10:30 to 11:00 am, concluding with the National Anthem. There would then be a brief
ceremony led by Governor Branstad and we would play for another ~30 minutes after the brief ceremony.
